FAITHFUL, FOCUSED TEACHING IN THE GREAT CATHOLIC TRADITION.
Pedagogy
The Saint John Paul II Education Guild exists to provide home educators with a rigorous classroom experience of core academic subjects for their young adults without the burdensome time commitment and cost of traditional schooling. We offer a three-year cycle of humanities seminars and courses in integrated mathematics and science following the traditional school year beginning after Labor Day, finishing before Memorial Day, and with substantial time off at Christmas and Easter. Classes will meet all day, but only two days per week. All reading, drilling and objective evaluations happen at home on the family's schedule. Class time is reserved for direct, rigorous work with established veteran teachers in small class settings.
We will place an emphasis on critical reading, clear writing, careful analysis and fruitful conversation. Our goal will be for students to join the “Great Conversation” with strong Catholic sensibilities. Only those young men and women armed with an understanding of what has passed can be equipped to evangelize the future.
